I've always had a strong interest in what you would call self-sustained living, but this born & bred city boy had no idea about none of that, except that a small farm where you raised and built your own things would be so cool. Now I'm all old and a traumatic brain injury survivor, and the grind of city life is finally taking its toll on me. I want to read up on folks that are living the dream, and maintaining themselves. I'm Detroit-bred.

Smile Hello DarthJenius,

Welcome to the forum, it's great having you here.

I think you may be our first US member! I am sorry to hear that you suffered a brain injury. One of my siblings suffered a massive brain injury about 7 years ago and the healing journey is ongoing. I can totally understand your desire to move away from the city and live a wholesome, clean and simpler life. The City seems to create a life that is far to complex for me but for now I am urban homesteading our suburban plot as best I can.

I am looking forward to sharing thoughts, plans and dreams with you and the rest of the LOTG forum crew.
