| So in Australia we are coming into cold and flu season. I don't hang around in many public places but my daughter and husband do with school and work.
Here we do high doses of vitamin C (sodium ascorbate powder). Half a teaspoon in orange juice (preferably) or water or other juice every 4 hours (or until bowels start to move - you know what I mean?) for adults. For the kids we use a quarter of a teaspoon of powder in juice of choice.
Other things we try:
Colloidal Silver
Zinc supplementation
Garlic - wrapped and popped in socks (or between two layers of socks) before bed.
What do you do at the first sign of a cold or flu that can stop it in its tracks?

| My grandma used to (when I was old enough ) give me hot water, juice of half a lemon, a nip of whisky and honey to taste before going to bed. You have to do it as soon as you feel the cold coming on, or that first night when you go to bed. It really works. I still do it now. I make it for my boys these days without the alcohol. | |

| I take a clove of raw garlic like a capsule as soon as I feel something brewing. If I have a sore throat or am feeling congested I make honey, lemon and ginger 'tea' in a small saucepan. We make a potent chilli, garlic, ginger and chicken soup too.
The kids aren't into any of these so they get sodium ascorbate in fresh juice.

| Water and other fluids. Water, juice, clear broth or warm lemon water with honey helps loosen congestion and prevents dehydration. Avoid alcohol, coffee and caffeinated sodas, which can make lack of water worse. Salt water. A saltwater gargle — 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt dissolved in an 8-ounce glass water — can temporarily relieve a sore or scratchy . bowel movement problems | |
